WIDOPAN-Stone Carpet Decorative Surfacing System

WIDOCRYL-Stone carpet is a jointless and open-pored floor covering suitable for outdoor use. The stone carpet consists of natural marble gravel and a binding agent. The open-pored structure reduces sounds, and the round marble gravel makes walking on the stone carpet pleasant and secure.

Various binding agents can be used to produce the stone carpet. These vary for horizontal and vertical layers. The classic binding agent is based on PURResin however, solvent-free alternatives are also available.

The stone carpet may be applied on all surfaces made from WIDOPAN liquid waterproofing but may also be used on other materials. Before starting the application, tests should be made to ensure compatibility with the surface. The surface should have a slope of at least 2% to ensure that the water drains off.

WIDOPAN-Stone carpet is certified for anti-slip (R10).

Processing

Before starting the application, we recommend installing angle brackets, which should be secured with cartridge adhesive or hot glue (8mm for horizontal layers and 6mm for vertical layers). They serve vertical boundaries but may also be used as part of the visual design.

The WIDOPAN-stone carpet consists of natural marble gravel and a binding agent, which are mixed together with an appropriate stirrer in a bucket until all the gravel is evenly coated with the binding agent. The finished mixture is then spread on the surface using a trowel and evened until a smooth surface is achieved. To avoid the gravel from sticking to the trowel, it’s recommended to regularly cover the trowel with a smoothening agent e.g. WIDOPAN-STGM.

Consumption

Horizontal layers: 16 kg/m² finished mixture for 8 mm layers. 14,8 kg/m² marble and 1,2 kg/m² binding agent.
For the finished mixture, one tin of binding agent for horizontal layers (2,0 kg) is mixed with one bag of marble 25,0 kg)

Vertical layers: 12 kg/m² finished mixture for 6 mm layers. 10,9 kg/m² marble and 1,1 kg/m² binding agent.
For the finished mixture, half a tin of binding agent for vertical layers (2,0 kg) is mixed with on bag of marble (25,0 kg). The vertical surface is primed with 0,2 kg/m² of the binding agent before applying the marble-mixture.

Curing ( at + 20°C and 50% rel. humidity)
12 to 24 hours (depending on the surrounding temperature and humidity, as well as the type of binding agent used).

Cleaning in fresh condition

WIDOPAN-Cleaner Storage of the Marble gravel. If the packaging is kept closed and stored at a constant temperature, the marble gravel can be stored indefinitely.

Storage of the binding agent

If the container is kept closed and storage temperature is held constantly between +15°C and +20°C the binding agent may be used for up to 6 months
